About Insurance Maximum
We are an independent insurance agency. That means we do not work for one insurance company. We work through several, on your side of the table.
What “independent” actually means
A captive agent represents one insurance company and can only sell you that company’s products. If their product is wrong for your situation, the honest answer costs them the sale, so it rarely gets said.
An independent agency places business with multiple carriers. When one of them is a poor fit for you, saying so costs us nothing. That is the entire structural difference, and it is the reason the advice you get here can be straight.
How we actually work
We start from what you own and what you could not afford to lose, not from a product list. Then we go through the coverage that applies, what it excludes, and where the real gaps are. Most households have two or three specific exposures nobody has ever mentioned to them: a liability limit set at the default, no water backup coverage, jewellery sitting above a policy sub-limit.
We would rather tell you that a policy you already have is fine than replace it for the sake of a sale. A policy someone was talked into lapses; a policy someone understood gets renewed.
What we will not do
We will not quote a number before we have asked the questions that determine it. A quote built on assumptions changes at binding, and a price that moves after you have made a decision is worse than a higher price quoted honestly the first time.
We will not tell you that the cheapest option is the best one, and we will not tell you that the most expensive one is either. What we will do is name the trade-off in each direction so the choice is actually yours.
What you can expect from us
-
Licensed people, reachable directly
You deal with a licensed agent who can answer coverage questions, not a queue that routes you somewhere else.
-
Exclusions covered before you buy
The exclusions are the part of the policy that decides whether a claim gets paid. We go through them at the start.
-
No pressure, ever
A quote is a quote. If it is not right for you, that is a perfectly acceptable outcome and we will say so ourselves.
