Travel Club & AD&D
Two things bundled: assistance services while you are travelling, and a fixed accidental death and dismemberment benefit. Neither is health insurance or trip cancellation coverage.
- Emergency travel assistance, available around the clock
- A fixed AD&D benefit paid to you or your beneficiary

What a travel club & ad&d policy actually does
-
Accidental death and dismemberment
A fixed benefit paid for death or specified serious injury resulting from a covered accident. Narrow by design: it pays only for accidents, not illness.
-
Emergency travel assistance
A staffed line that helps locate care, coordinate transport, and reach family during an emergency away from home.
-
Medical evacuation coordination
Arranging transport to appropriate care when local facilities are inadequate, with benefit limits stated in the plan.
-
Lost document assistance
Help replacing a passport, licence, or travel documents while away.
-
Travel discounts
Member rates on hotels, car rental, and attractions on many plans.
-
Illness
AD&D pays for accidents only. A heart attack or a sudden illness is not a covered event.
-
Trip cancellation and lost luggage
Not travel insurance. Cancellation, interruption, and baggage need a separate travel policy.
-
High-risk activities
Skydiving, climbing, and similar pursuits are commonly excluded.
Travel Club & AD&D questions
Is this travel insurance?
No. Travel insurance covers cancellation, interruption, baggage, and medical costs abroad. This is an accident benefit plus assistance services, and it is priced accordingly.
Does it replace life insurance?
No. AD&D pays only for accidental death, which is a small fraction of how people actually die. It supplements life insurance and cannot substitute for it.
Who is covered?
Most plans cover the member and household. The specific definition of a covered dependant is in the plan documents.
Does it work internationally?
Assistance services generally do. Benefit amounts and any territorial limits are stated in the plan.
This is not an insurance policy
Travel club membership is not insurance. The accidental death and dismemberment benefit is an insurance product with defined, limited coverage: it pays only for losses resulting from a covered accident and does not cover illness, trip cancellation, baggage, or medical expenses.
